About Justice Choir Grand Rapids

Justice Choir GR produces multimedia performances to grow justice in our community and advocate with art. A chapter of the national Justice Choir movement, we were the first to hold choral concerts in addition to our mobile advocacy.

We believe that advocacy should be accessible. All voices are welcome, and no auditions or membership dues are required. If you have a passion for justice and an interest in singing, you have a place here. Learn how to get involved!

Concert Series

Our annual concert series showcases full-length productions featuring entertainment and education around modern issues of justice, produced in collaboration with our community partners and featuring local artists.

Mobile Advocacy

Our singers perform at a variety of events in the name of justice. Past partnerships include March for Our Lives Grand Rapids, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America's Wear Orange event, and Access of West Michigan's Walk for Good Food.

Would your organization like to feature our interactive musical performances at your meetings or events? Contact us to discuss details.

Mission, Vision, and Values

Justice Choir Grand Rapids is a chapter of the national Justice Choir movement, whose mission is "to further social and environmental justice movements by engaging communities in singing together."

In addition to the mission of Justice Choir, our chapter has its own guiding mission, vision, and values:

Mission: The Grand Rapids Justice Choir aims to amplify local voices fighting systems of oppression and building justice in our community.

Vision: For a more activated, educated, and connected community, recognizing and fighting injustices of all peoples.

Values: Accessibility, Diversity, Inclusion.

  • Advocacy should be ACCESSIBLE to all.

    • Physical Accessibility: We are committed to ensuring our rehearsal and performance spaces are accommodating to a variety of needs.

    • Financial Accessibility: Participation in rehearsals and concerts is always free of charge.

  • To authentically amplify local voices, our events should reflect the DIVERSITY of our community.

  • We are an INCLUSIVE community of people using our voices to advocate for justice. All voices are welcome to sing with us—no matter their experience or skill.

The Justice Choir Grand Rapids Steering Committee works to ensure the choir continues to uphold our mission, vision, and values.
