There are many ways to be involved with Justice Choir. The most obvious is to sing with us!
Sing With Justice Choir GR
Justice Choir GR is a choir of adult singers of all ages and vocal backgrounds. All voices are welcome—with no auditions and no cost.
About Our Rehearsal Blocks
Every Justice Choir GR concert features an independent collection of singers; we welcome members to participate for a season as their schedules allow. Our concert rehearsal blocks begin with two open rehearsals. Anyone can stop by these rehearsals and try us out, free of commitment.
Fall 2021 Rehearsals Cancelled
From our director, Parks Payton:
After long consideration, the Justice Choir GR Steering Committee has decided to delay our relaunch of rehearsals in the best interest of the health of our singers and community. With Kent County's community transmission rate as 'High' (per the CDC) we will hold off on singing together until it is safe to resume. I am so so sorry to everyone that was looking forward to resuming our social justice music-making! I was so excited to start making music with you and I am frustrated and sad that we have to delay again. That said, we WILL BE BACK SOON!!! In the meantime, stay safe and healthy, get vaccinated, and continue fighting for liberty and justice for all!
We rehearse on Monday evenings at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1100 Lake Drive SE, 49506. The building is handicap accessible via the north parking lot, just off Lake Drive.
Rehearsals become closed after the two open rehearsals. If you decide you'd like to sing with us for the upcoming concert, we ask that you commit to attending weekly rehearsals leading up to the concert date.
Each concert is produced within a short rehearsal window. Our music is accessible for quick learning and confident performance! In just 10 rehearsals, we will prepare and present a purposeful and powerful musical advocacy experience.
Even if you can't commit to sing with us for concerts, we always welcome singers for our occasional mobile advocacy events. Get in touch if you'd like to be made aware of these opportunities!
Attend Our Events
We have held five concerts (and had planned our sixth for 2020) since the choir was formed in fall 2017, and we're excited to add new voices and expand our advocacy within the community.
