There are many ways to be involved with Justice Choir. The most obvious is to sing with us!
Sing With Justice Choir GR
Justice Choir GR is a choir of adult singers of all ages and vocal backgrounds.
Fall 2019: Open Songbook Sessions
Our structure will be a little different this fall (see our usual format below). Rather than holding formal rehearsals for a concert performance, we'll carve out this time to sing Justice Choir Songbook songs together, share ideas for our 2020 concert season, and focus on the mobile advocacy part of our mission. These sessions will ALL be open, so anyone interested can join us as their schedule allows. All voices are welcome—with no auditions and no cost.
These informal rehearsals begin September 23 and will continue every other week on Monday evenings from 6:30-8:00PM at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1100 Lake Drive SE, 49506. Our last rehearsal for 2019 will be on November 18. The church is handicap accessible; the ramp can be found in the north parking lot, just off Lake Drive.
(Dates: 9/23, 10/7, 10/21, 11/4, and 11/18.)
About Our Rehearsal Blocks
Every Justice Choir GR concert features an independent collection of singers; we welcome members to participate for a season as their schedules allow. Our concert rehearsal blocks begin with two open rehearsals. Anyone can stop by these rehearsals and try us out, free of commitment.
Rehearsals become closed after the two open rehearsals. If you decide to join us for the upcoming concert, we ask that you commit to attending weekly rehearsals leading up to the concert date.
Each concert is produced within a short rehearsal window. Our music is accessible for quick learning and confident performance! In just 10 rehearsals, we will prepare and present a purposeful and powerful musical advocacy experience.
Follow Justice Choir GR on Facebook to stay in the loop for concert announcements and mobile advocacy opportunities throughout the year, or contact us with any questions or to receive updates on the choir.
Even if you can't commit to sing with us for concerts, we always welcome singers for our occasional mobile advocacy events. Get in touch if you'd like to be made aware of these opportunities!
Attend Our Events
We have held five concerts since the choir was formed in fall 2017, and we are excited to add new voices and expand our advocacy within the community. More details on our next concert will be announced soon.
Not a Singer? We Still Need You!
There are still many ways you can be involved:
Follow us on Facebook and share our posts.
Share what we're up to with your family, friends, and other connections.
Consider serving on our Steering Committee.
Request a group of singers to support your justice-oriented event.
Attend our events (see above).
Finally, we are always seeking justice-minded sponsors to help us fund our mission and programming. Contact us about opportunities to sponsor us by advertising in our concert programs. We are grateful to be supported as a program of Trinity United Methodist Church; any checks to support us should be made out to Trinity, with "Justice Choir GR" noted in the memo to make sure we receive the funds.
Thank you for your consideration!
